Rube Goldberg Piggy Bank

By admin | Jul 30, 2008

A Rube Goldberg device, if you’re not familiar with the term, is an overly complicated setup that, in the end, does something very trivial. It usually consists of a series of mechanisms that set off each other in some sort of domino effect. A few great examples are the boardgame “Mouse trap”, and the machine Doc Brown built to feed his dog and prepare breakfast in Back To The Future.
And this machine here is a Rube Goldberg piggy bank, although I don’t know you can call it a piggy bank if it’s not shaped like a pig. Insert a coin into it, turn it on and watch your hard-earned cash travel through a plastic maze before ending up in the money box at the bottom.
