A mini fridge often comes in handy in the office, but unfortunately you have to deal with coworkers who steal your drinks and snacks when you’re not looking. One option is locking the fridge in some way, or you can get one of these things: the SmartCube!
The SmartCube minibar can be connected to a network and send an email every time someone takes something out of it. Not only are you notified when someone tries to steal your stuff, you’ll also be able to catch the thief red-handed!
One interesting thought about this thing: since it has a network connection, it shouldn’t be too hard to hack it and build a network camera into it. Of course, that’s a lot of paranoia for a mini fridge…
