Microscope with TFT Display

By admin | Jul 12, 2008

This is a really cool microscope. Instead of the standard eyepiece, it has a small TFT display for viewing! There’s a 2 megapixel camera where the eyepiece usually sits, and a 320×240 TFT display. For storing images, it has 128 megabytes of built in memory (Why can’t this be the case with ordinary digital cameras? Why do they still come with 16 megabyte cards that you throw away right out of the box?) and a USB connection for transferring pictures and video to your computer. No info on wether it’s possible to view through the camera directly on a computer, though.
The microscope comes with three objective lenses (4x, 10x and 40x), wich allow magnifications of 40x, 100x and 400x. Digital zoom can stretch this up to 1600x, but as we all know, that’s no real zoom. It also has two LED light sources for illuminating objects from either the top or the bottom, and it comes with a carrying case and a few prepared slides.
