Definitely one of the most expensive accessories for the iPod you can think of: a tube amplifier! Claimed to sound better and ‘warmer’ (whatever that may mean) than transistor amplifiers by audiophiles, these tube amps have been designed to act as iPod docks. I doubt these things sell well, because the same people who claim these things sound better also claim that vinyl sounds better than a cd, so they probably won’t use iPods at all.
Should you decide to buy one of these things, keep in mind that you’re wasting your money unless you also get a kick ass speaker set (no, those cheap Logitech desktop speakers really won’t do), and your audio files better have a very high bitrate!
