Apparently, Second Life is coming to cellphones soon. Samsung has demonstrated a handset that’s capable of running it, so you can access it from anywhere.
In my opinion, this is something that is gonna suck like nothing else before. I have tried Second Life for exactly ten minutes and is a horrible, horrible piece of junk. It never runs smooth and looks plain and simply ugly. Can Linden Labs please explain me why Blizzard manages to make World of Warcraft look great and run at a decent framerate, and why it’s impossible for them to make a world that looks like a ten year old 3D engine prototype run at more than ten frames per second? Let’s face it: Second Life sucks! Before they even begin to think about moving it to mobile platforms they better try to make it run decently on desktop computers!
