A yearly tradition at Think Geek is the collection of fake april fools gadgets. Although they are obviously fake, sometimes people really fall for them. A few years ago, a well-known computer magazine even wrote an article about their “wireless extension cords”!
So, what do they have in store for us this year? For starters, there’s the Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt, wich has a built-in speaker so your life can always have a soundtrack, like in the movies.
Super Pii Pii Bros sounds like something that might be real. Sure, the idea is disgusting, but Nintendo has done some unconventional things before. Besides, making nerds with no sense for rhythm dance is also disgusting but Dance Dance Revolution has been a huge succes. How does this work? Strap you Wiimote to the included belt and pee in the onscreen toilet!
And to celebrate the virtues of obsolete technology, there’s the Betamax to HD-DVD converter! Now you can convert all those precious Beta tapes to the state of the art HD-DVD format and then look down on the rest of the world and claim it’s a million times better than Blueray.
The best gadget, however, is the Youtube Tazer. Face it: people getting tazed = funny! It’s even more funny when the helpless target is carrying a cup of scalding hot coffee or a bottle of corrosive chemicals. And to share the fun of senseless violence with the rest of the world, this tazer has a built-in video camera so your victil will be twitching and screamin on Youtube in no time!
