While this isn’t exactly the most high tech thing to put in a USB port, it sure is useful! A USB port on a public pc is a potential security risk. Anyone can plug in a USB stick and put a virus, keylogger or any other type of dangerous type of software on it. Sure, you can disable them, but in public libraries for example this is rarely done. Besides, it’s not impossible to unlock them again.
That’s where this thing comes in handy. It’s a lock that you place in a USB port so it’s inaccessible. It can even be used on a port that has a device plugged in, so users can’t unplug the keyboard, for example, and plug in a USB stick.
