On the desktop, the trackball has all but died, except in places where there’s not enough space to use a mouse (would be a great idea in the lab where I work). For laptops, they are a bit more popular, since not everybody is a fan of the touchpads. The Genius Traveler 350 is designed with Windows Vista in mind, featuring Flip 3D and Media Center buttons. Looks a bit too big for a “Traveler” device, though.
