Good news for DJs! Numark’s new iDJ2 mixing console is available. The key feature of this unit has been the iPod dock since the start, but the new version also has a USB port for connecting other storage media, such as other MP3 players, USB sticks or even portable harddrives. Also, only one drive is needed for mixing two tracks. Similar mixing consoles require you to connect two drives.
Searching, mixing and scratching is done with two large jog wheels, and the pitch control has a range of +25%/-100%. In addition to the iPod dock and the USB connectors, there’s a dedicated microphone input with level and tone control and phono/line inputs on both music channels. A USB keyboard can also be connected. To top it all off, there’s a big backlit color LCD display with an advanced user interface.
