Tiny tiny Cube PC

By admin | Jun 23, 2007

How small can a fully functional PC get? If you think ultraportable laptops are small, think again! This computer, built Shimafuji, is a complete PC crammed into a 5 cm cube. The computer comes with a 200 or 300 mHz 64-bit CPU, 64 megs of ram, 16 megs of internal flash memory and a CF card slot. Connections to the outside world are supplied through serial, USB, ethernet and VGA ports.
One can wonder what use a computer like this has. You obviously can’t run Windows Vista on it and play a game of Supreme Commander. The OS for a machine like this would probably be a custom-built version of Linux, and it can obviously only be used for very specialized tasks.
