The first generation iPhone hasn’t been launched, and yet rumors about the second generation emerge. The second generation would be launched at the 2008 Macworld expo and have GPS. The source of this is the rumor that Apple will incorporate GPS chips in the next iPhone, wich could help in getting better reception in urban or wooded areas. No official announcment of this has been made, of course.

If this is true, buying an iPhone this summer would be quite stupid, since it will be outdated in less than a year! Frankly, it doesn’t make sense. The first one hasn’t been launched yet but they are already working on a hardware update. Why not just put in in from the beginning? This is a bit like Nintendo, with the DS and the DS Lite.
